Among them were:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>George S. Harris &amp; Sons<\/strong> (Philadelphia) \u2013 famed for ornate cigar labels.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Schumacher &amp; Ettlinger<\/strong> (New York) \u2013 specialists in bold advertising art.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Heppenheimer &amp; Maurer<\/strong> (Newark) \u2013 masters of fine reproductions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>The Giles Company<\/strong> \u2013 known for intricate embossed and specialty prints.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>By combining their resources and talent, these firms created the first true American printing conglomerate, designed to meet the industrial-scale needs of the late 19th century. The T68 set remains one of the finest surviving examples of their craft. Under magnification, collectors can still see the <strong>dot patterns, layered overprints, and tight registration<\/strong> that marked ALC\u2019s technical excellence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Although the company\u2019s prominence faded by mid-century with the rise of offset lithography, the artistry and industrial mastery of the T68s endure.
